The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Embassy of Israel will co-host an commemoration event in Central London on 23 January. At the event, the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government will honour eight individuals with the British Heroes of the Holocaust Award. The audience will be a wide range of Embassy representatives, parliamentarians, academics and NGOs from the UK Post-Holocaust and UK-Israel community. The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and the Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis will be addressing the event. There are approximately twenty Holocaust Memorial Day events taking place in different government departments.
