Uniting experts and governments to counter antisemitism
Antisemitic incidents are on the rise worldwide. Whether online or offline, in classrooms or in the workplace, at carnivals or at demonstrations, the scourge of antisemitism persists, and is inching closer to the mainstream. History has taught us what can happen when antisemitism is normalized. The IHRA views this development with great concern.
The IHRA, the only intergovernmental organization mandated to focus on Holocaust-related issues, is working with governments, experts and civil society organizations to help create a shared understanding of how antisemitism impacts our societies – and how we can address it.
Antisemitism is found in all countries and at all levels of society. Encouraging civil society organizations to participate in the fight against this phenomenon is therefore essential. With this in mind, the IHRA works closely with its Permanent International Partners to support Holocaust-related institutions around the world.
The IHRA’s Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial

The IHRA’s Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial is made up of international experts from a variety of fields, who work together throughout the year to address the most pressing issues related to antisemitism. Their research and discussions help inform the policy decisions of the IHRA’s Member Countries. The Committee also works to create practical tools to help ensure that policy and decision makers are better equipped to address antisemitism in their societies.
The current Chair of the IHRA’s Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial is Juliane Wetzel (Germany).
