Holocaust Remembrance Day Event

Online

On January 27th, 2021, in the framework of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago and the Midwest will organize, for the second consecutive year an event, honoring the Greek Jewry and their fate during WWII.

You are cordially invited to attend our event, to watch with us the film “In the Shadow of the Acropolis” and follow the Odyssey of the Ackos family and the compelling story of an ancient Jewish culture in Greece – the Romaniotes – which was almost annihilated during the Holocaust.

Laura Zelle, the director, will present the story of her family, the Ackos family, and Prof. Dr. Mimis Cohen will honor us with his attendance this year as well, and will answer relevant questions.

Due to medical concerns related to the pandemic, this year’s event will take place online via zoom. To be able to attend the event, you must register via the link below.
