The project aimed to develop strategies for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), with a focus on the genocide of the Roma. Through the creation of an interactive online platform and an “educational suitcase” of activities and methods of commemoration, Roma and youth organizations shall be supported to develop their practices of remembrance. The interactive online platform allows for visitors to upload stories, videos and images and shall facilitate awareness raising of remembrance events and action days.
In the course of the project, workshops were held in five partner countries in order to strengthen the capacity of multipliers to implement educational initiatives. From each of the workshops, two to three multipliers were invited to an international conference in Krakow to report on their experiences with HMD activities. The conference brought together 70 experts, stakeholders, decision-makers and young multipliers to review new approaches and materials and discuss the quality of the proposed educational tools and online platform. A final meeting was held to assess the results of the project and ensure the quality of the envisaged outcomes.
